BECOME A CENTRE
Become a Centre in order to provide CAN UK Validated Awards, independent courses and training programmes, which have been recognised by CAN UK. We will guide you through the application stages and offer help and advice about the processes
STEP 1 – Contact us for an initial discussion
After filling in the Centre Recognition Interest form below, one of our Quality Assurance Officers will be in touch with you to find out more information about the processes and requirements for Centre Approval. Once the Board members of CAN UK agree that your organisation has the potential to gain approval as a CAN UK centre your organisation will be asked to submit a full application.
STEP 2 – The Application
The Centre Approval application documents and guidance notes will be forwarded to your organisation. You should also submit an application for Validation of at least one programme. Please note that your programme must be approved by CAN UK before any learner registrations can be made.
STEP 3 – Assessment of Application
During stage 3, CAN UK will assess your application using our risk assessment and quality assurance processes to determine if your organisation as a centre can fully comply with the requirements of being a CAN UK centre
STEP 4 – Centre Approval Visit
In most cases a Centre Approval Visit will be required as part of the decision-making process. This visit will be arranged with your organisation in advance and once all payment has been received. The main purpose of the Centre Approval Visit is to assess the centre’s ability to maintain, and in fact increase standards in the long term. As part of the visit, the Quality Assessing Officer may wish to review centre documentation, meet with staff and students, and view the premises. A detailed schedule of the visit along with a list of documents that will be required will be communicated to the centre in advance of the visit taking place.
STEP 5 – Centre Approval Decision
During stage 5, the Quality Assessing Officer will give a recommendation to the Board Members of CAN UK as to whether Validated Award Centre Status and course Validation should be granted with or without conditions.
Centres must receive approval to run at least one course Validation to be awarded Validated Centre Status. Should the Course Validation Approval Application be rejected at this stage, an Action Plan may be provided to the centre in order to assist them in meeting the requirements of the Course Validation Approval.
Certification of Centre Approval
Once Centre Approval has been granted, the centre will receive a CAN UK certificate providing approval for two years. At this point the centre will be allowed to use the CAN UK logo. Please note: All uses of the CAN UK logo must be approved beforehand.
